MLS Laser Treatment

MLS stands for Multiwave Locked System and references the use of laser-based therapy.

MLS is a type of therapy that has a simultaneous effect on pain, inflammation and edema. This type of laser exceeds the limitations of low powered lasers, without the adverse effects of high powered lasers. MLS is a treatment which utilizes lasers in a specific way to provide non-invasive pain relief without the potentially addictive side effects of many pain relieving medications.

MLS Laser Therapy works by using lasers at multiple wavelengths. This allows the doctor to accurately direct treatment to the problem area, even if it is located deeper within the body or over a large area. Research has shown that this particular treatment method works on a number of injuries and proves to be highly effective for pain relief.

Generally, 90% of patients who have used laser treatments reported a decrease in symptoms, usually after the first treatment. Based on patient use, musculoskeletal and inflammatory conditions respond very well to MLS Laser Therapy., This includes plantar fasciitis, tendinitis, bursitis, and arthritis. In addition, nerve injuries and neuropathy can also be treated.

Grand Rapids Orthopedics is proud to now offer MLS Laser Therapy to our patients and the greater Grand Rapids area. Please call our office at 616-281-7000 or schedule an appointment.
